Town Clock Community Development Corporation (TCCDC) and coLAB Arts are partnering for a community story telling event around domestic violence prevention.
As a kickoff to Domestic Violence Awareness month, coLAB Arts and TCCDC are hosting a special evening of community storytelling in order to raise advocacy and awareness about domestic violence. Additional collaboration and support are being provided by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Community Health Promotion Program and the New Brunswick Domestic Violence Awareness Coalition.
The event will take place on Sunday, October 1st from 2pm – 4pm at the front courtyard of the First Reformed Church of New Brunswick, 9 Bayard Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. The rain location will be inside the church. There will be no admission charge and light refreshments will follow the event.
Storytellers have been carefully selected to bring the audience into deeper understanding of the cycle of violence and the resilience of survivors. Additional performances by local New Brunswick teenagers who completed a transformational learning experience through the AMARD&V: Healing Through the Arts-Expansion Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Community Health Promotion Program, with the goal that they become Teen Dating Violence Prevention Ambassadors in their communities.
