A Healthy Marriage - a new musical comedy about the Hall Mills murders

  • coLAB Arts 9 Bayard Street New Brunswick, NJ 08901 United States (map)

New Brunswick, NJ, 1922.
A priest and a choir singer, lovers in a scandalous affair, are victims of a brutal murder that captivates the nation. The ensuing trial ends without a single conviction.

What ACTUALLY happened?
What's gonna happen to the CHOIR?
Who's gonna sing on Sunday?

A Healthy Marriage, the new musical comedy inspired by the infamous Hall-Mills murder case, invites audiences into the heart of the mystery through the point of view of the remaining choir members, struggling to stay together. They share the story as they saw it including love, betrayal, and the secrets that never made it to the public.

Featuring original music, lyrics, and book by Dave Seamon (The Eleventh Hour!Everything’s Fine: A Panic Attack in D Major), A Healthy Marriage blends sharp humor, haunting harmonies, and gripping storytelling to reexamine one of the 20th century’s most sensational unsolved crimes. It's a toe-tapping dark comedy about passion, perception, and public scandal where the truth is anything but sacred.

Part true crime, part musical confession, A Healthy Marriage asks: when everyone has a version of the truth, who should you believe?

Tickets are available now! Performances run May 27 - June 7 at coLAB Arts' newly renovated venue at 9 Bayard Street in Downtown New Brunswick.
