At coLAB Arts, we practice culturally responsive teaching, which recognizes that someone's lived experiences and their curiosity about their own culture & the cultures of others is an incredible asset. Teaching Artists on our education team possess a wide range of creative skills across the artistic disciplines, including theater, music, dance, film, literature, digital and multimedia. We start each residency by aligning quality artistic technique with a research and themes based approach across the arts, humanities, and sciences.

Our mission is to engage community stories and cultivate greater empathy and cooperation between the individual and the community through the creation of socially engaged art. Education programs are designed so that participants can partake in and contribute to both studio work and large scale public art installations.
