Join coLAB Arts as we launch our Open Studio series and welcome our 2026 Art City artists-in-residence who will be creating new public art work for our 2026 Art City Festival supported by funding through the NJEDA’s A.R.T. – Phase II Grant Program.

The inaugural Open Studio will take place on Friday, May 1st from 5-8pm at coLAB Arts Studios, located at 6 Kirkpatrick Street in New Brunswick. This informal evening is an opportunity for community members, neighbors, and arts supporters to meet the eight artists selected for this year’s residency and learn more about the projects they will be developing for Art City.

Guests can connect over light refreshments and chat with the artists and organization team. Throughout the year, Art City Open Studios will continue as a space to follow resident artists progress, share ideas, and build community around the upcoming festival.

We hope you’ll join us on May 1st to kick off the season and help welcome this year’s artists-in-residence to New Brunswick. The event will feature Resident Artist Chanika Svetvilas.
