coLAB Arts (www.colab-arts.org), engaging artists, social advocates, and communities to create transformative new work, is seeking out a full-time Program Coordinator to support the Corporate Art Program for a Fortune 100 company in New Brunswick, NJ, located in the traditional territory of the Leni-Lenape called “Lenapehoking.” coLAB Arts produces high-quality work across creative disciplines and in response to local social issues, advocacy organizations, and communities of the greater New Brunswick, NJ area. coLAB Arts’ vision is to create more livable, sustainable, and exciting environments through art.
coLAB Arts’ Current programming includes:
Project commissioning across creative disciplines and bilingual English/Spanish audiences including dance, public art, theater, storytelling, visual art, comics, civic engagement, and public history;
Arts education programming including 3 weeks of free summer youth programming, teacher professional development, and in-school residencies focused on racial and social justice curriculum integration;
Oral history collection, research, and digital archive stewardship; and
Artist residencies and programming in a newly renovated studio and public event space in Downtown New Brunswick.
coLAB Arts supports the partner Fortune 100 company as a Corporate Arts Partner through three main integrations:
Management of the Corporate Art Collection
Facilitating quarterly Arts-Based and/or Arts-Adjacent Events that speak to the interests of the Fortune 100 company and its Employee Business Resource Groups
Provides biannual professional development opportunities as relates to coLAB Arts’ creative and community-based practice
This partnership is intended to strengthen the relationship between the Fortune 100 company and its employees, and its employees with the local community. This partnership will also support Employee Business Resource Groups to better engage with and patron New Brunswick’s arts and culture programming.
coLAB Arts’ staff includes a full-time director of education, full-time producing associate, full-time community organizer, part-time general manager, part-time development manager, part-time education associate, communications and marketing vendor partner, as well as contractors supporting the organization’s digital archive and research work, website, graphic design, and Spanish language translation.
The Corporate Art Program Coordinator will principally be responsible for stewarding the Corporate Art Program, and at times will be tasked to support curatorial efforts for coLAB Arts. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Producing Director, and by assignment, partners at the Fortune 100 company.
This is an in-person, exempt salaried position that at times requires early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities. This job is best suited for someone with art handling and curatorial experience who is enthusiastic and fearless about connecting with people, and understands how to engage a diverse group of individuals. The successful candidate is driven to support the work of living artists and community and culture-building within institutions.
Corporate Art Program Coordinator position responsibilities Include:
Regular communication and scheduled check-ins with direct supervisor and Fortune 100 company Corporate Art Program partners
Administrative management, project management, and meeting note tracking for related projects in all stages of development
Budget projections and expense management
Annual program and collection management budget
Purchase orders, vendor agreements, and payment plans
Long range financial planning
Corporate Art Collection
Art collection research and documentation for archive, curatorial projects, and communications initiatives
Scheduling and overseeing appointments with Fortune 100 company employees to review the collection for office installation opportunities
Manage the storage, selection, transportation, and installation of art between storage, campus, and off-campus locations
Off-campus location logistics for collection, including de-installation, deaccession, shipping, and transportation of collection artwork to and from Fortune 100 company campus
Deaccession of the collection, where applicable
Research and implement new storage, asset management, and archive tools, solutions, and protocols as needed to protect the collection and improve efficiency
Arts and Culture Institution Memberships
Manage all corporate memberships and renewals, including negotiating new agreements
Coordinate and respond to all employee requests for benefit access
Physical pass management, including patron cards for select institutions
Programming
Execute legacy campus art programs for Fortune 100 company employees
Design and execute new campus programs in coordination with coLAB Arts and partners at Fortune 100 company
Providing programming, lectures, or serving on panels as appropriate when requested
Communications
Manage the Corporate Art Program Email Inbox
Compose and design a monthly newsletter about the Corporate Art Program and member benefits for distribution across the entire Fortune 100 company community
Manage the Corporate Art Progam Viva Engage page
Ensure strong program and cultural awareness for the Corporate Art Program within the Fortune 100 company community
Physical Expectations:
Access to a personal vehicle
Personal computer
Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend work hours
Candidates should be able to lift at least 25 lbs
Manual labor involving power and hand tools
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
B.A. degree or equivalent, with at least 3-5 years of professional arts management experience
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Strong computer skills
Strong experience with G-Suite and Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and database platforms including Artlogic, Museum System, and Microsoft Access
Detail-oriented with organization, project management, and time management skills
Ability to perform a substantial number of tasks independently
Ability to work cooperatively, foster team spirit, and maintain a positive demeanor
Experience working with complex organizations
Ability to solve problems and negotiate solutions with a wide variety of contractors and other project stakeholders
Ability to manage (both up, down, and laterally) and supervise people in a clear and professional manner and relay expectations concisely
